TEACHING AND RESEARCH AREAS

Physiological ecology, particularly the role of physical environmental factors in limiting the range or distribution of marine invertebrates, and the energetic or reproductive advantages of adaptations to physical environments. Nitrogen, water and salt relations in herbivorous terrestrial crabs. Development of field instrumentation, including low-power microelectronics and radio- and ultrasonic telemetry of behavioral and physiological information from free-ranging animals.
