This program provides a means of recognition for students in related fields, especially Science and Engineering. Those who are interested in application of physical principles to the atmospheric environment may want to consider a minor in Meteorology.

Requirements

    1. Admission into the program requires a ‘C’ or better in MA 141, 241, and 242 and in PY 205 and 208.
    2. Successful completion of the program requires a ‘C minus’ or better in at least 15 credit hours of meteorology as follows:

MEA 214 Fundamentals of Meteorology II (2 credits)
MEA 311 The Global Atmosphere (3 credits)
MEA 312 Atmospheric Thermodynamics (3 credits)
MEA 313 Weather Measurements and Analysis I (1 credit)
MEA 314 Weather Measurements and Analysis II (1 credit)
MEA 421 Atmospheric Dynamics I (3 credits)

Admissions and Certification of Minor
In both instances, students should contact Dr. Matt Parker in 5149 Jordan Hall. Admission into the program requires a ‘C’ or better in MA 141, 241, and 242 and in PY 205 and 208.
